What is EMDR Therapy ?

EMDR stands for Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing. EMDR is a research-backed type of therapy used for the treatment of trauma and anxiety.
It works by overriding distorted belief systems that are linked to past experiences and unprocessed trauma(s). It updates our internal programme so that we can experience life without intrusion of old negative emotions and beliefs.
I use EMDR to treat:
- Negative life experiences and / or traumatic events including failed relationships, panic attacks, complex developmental trauma and post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).
- To clear symptoms such as binge eating, fears and phobias.
- To transform limiting core beliefs such as “I am not good enough”, “I don’t matter”, “I’m powerless”, “I can’t, I’m not capable”, to “I am good enough and I deserve (respect)”, “I am significant”, “I have choices”, “I am capable and I can succeed”.
